Cranial Work

In this clinic most cranial work is done for conditions of the jaw, pain and clicking, jaw sprains, temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD/TMJ), headaches and sinus issues and children. Infants respond well especially if there was a forceps delivery, birth trauma or long labor.

Just like the rest of the body the joints and muscles of the head and face need attention and can become dysfunctional or problematic with traumas such as whiplash, facial injuries from contact sports, or braces.

There are many kinds of “cranial work”, and at this clinic our focus is less ‘energy’ related and more structural in nature. It is cranio-pathic manipulation and Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT) based and usually involves pressure that can be felt with direct stimulation to the head and facial structures.

At this clinic we make no “promises” for healing although we have seen great results for many conditions and individuals, and it has been a very positive result driven therapy in our clinic.

Some people try cranial work after trying multiple other treatments, not just for head related issues but for back pain, learning disabilities, dyslexia, scoliosis, infantile disorders, chronic fatigue, motor coordination impairments, emotional difficulties, chronic neck and back pain, TMJ syndrome, stress and tension related problems, and other disorders. Cranial therapy, is however, not a specific treatment for a medical condition and it should be used as an adjunctive treatment to other avenues.
